From fall 2015 through spring 2016, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) is jubilant its 150th year as a leader in educating the world'due south nearly influential artists, designers, and scholars. Founded as the Chicago Academy of Design in 1866 by a collective of studio artists, SAIC has evolved from a small gallery and school to a world-course art museum and one of the largest accredited colleges of art and design in the country, providing undergraduate, graduate, and mail service-baccalaureate programs to more than than iii,500 students. Throughout its 150-twelvemonth history, SAIC has redefined the cultural mural and influenced contemporary art and blueprint throughout the world. For 150 years, the Schoolhouse of the Fine art Establish of Chicago (SAIC) has been a leader in educating the world's most influential artists, designers, and scholars.
