From fall 2015 through spring 2016, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) is jubilant its 150th year as a leader in educating the world'due south nearly influential artists, designers, and scholars. Founded as the Chicago Academy of Design in 1866 by a collective of studio artists, SAIC has evolved from a small gallery and school to a world-course art museum and one of the largest accredited colleges of art and design in the country, providing undergraduate, graduate, and mail service-baccalaureate programs to more than than iii,500 students. Throughout its 150-twelvemonth history, SAIC has redefined the cultural mural and influenced contemporary art and blueprint throughout the world.
