Nintendo Unveils Two Secret Characters for Mario Kart 7

An overweight bee and a flower-headed caterpillar unchangeable as playable drivers in the upcoming installment of Nintendo's famous kart-racing enfranchisement.

There are each manner of creatures in the Mushroom Kingdom -man-eating plants, pregnant squids, turtle monsters sporting flushed superiority complexes – but one set of critters has always been somewhat underrepresented: the bugs. Sure on that point were some armored beetles running around a cave or two in the earlier Mario titles, and no combined is denying the lowercase hoards of butterflies hovering about in the N64 variant, but up until now, none of the arthropoda phylum have gotten much bon in Nintendo's bevy of Mario byproduct titles. Well, complete of that discrimination is eventually changing as Nintendo is viewing some love to our multi-footed friends by adding Wiggler and Honey Bee to the roster of Mario Kart 7.

Much like Super Smash Brothers, and pretty a good deal whatsoever Mario sports style, the Mario Kart series has always allowed for a large set of playable characters from the series' expansive, recovered-known universe. The newest installment, slated to go on sale December 4th for the 3DS handheld, is no exclusion. Nintendo already confirmed Metal Mario and Lakitu as new additions (though I'm still not sure who'll exist starting the race now), and adds Wiggler and Honey Bee with the promise of other unlockable drivers still to be announced.

Wiggler, the yellow push-down stack of balls with a huge dark-brown pry, has been staple Mario enemy since the days of Topnotch Mario Worldwide. Best known for leaving from smiles to Hulk-rage in a matter of moments, Wiggler brings an interesting set of possibilities to Nintendo's racing enfranchisement. Perhaps hitting her with a plate will turn her face that dreadful shade of bright red and throw her into a maddening hysteri. Even if the effect was merely sensuous, I still think it could work.

The other modern challenger is no other than Beloved Bee, the gigantic, burden-challenged bumbler WHO basic made an appearance in 2007's Super Mario Extragalactic nebula for the Wii. Thither's a bit of a size up discrepancy for Pretermit Bee, as she was then macro in Galaxy that Mario could scale her thorax like-minded a big, squishy, mountain. Presumably, to make her fit, someone has hit her with a much permanent form of lightning bolt than the racers are used to.

Mario Kart 7 will comprise available for the Nintendo 3DS along December 4th.
