  • 1 to 1 ½ teaspoonful red chilly powder (I utilised 2 tsps)
  • 1 tablespoon coriander powder or daniya powder
  • Cut this step if using curd. Douse tamarind in ¼ cup hot water.

  • Wash bitter gourd thoroughly. Cut out some the ends. Cut to thin round slices.

  • If desirable remove the seeds & discard.

  • Squeeze up the tamarind tree very well and make a wizened liquid by adding another 2 to 4 tbsp water.

  • Make sure tamarind water is thin other it may prevent the gourd from acquiring cooked.
